An experienced Strategic Planner is sought after to join the Urban Strategic department at a municipality located east of Melbourne's CBD, on a contract basis. Managing a comprehensive portfolio whilst motivating and coordinating a small team, your experience working within the Victorian market will be fully utilised. 

Key responsibilities include but not limited to: 
  • Managing a small specialist and senior team of Strategic Planners 
  • Project managing large scale and complex planning scheme amendments 
  • Review of the current Local Planning Policy Framework
  • Review of selected precinct structure plans 
  • Managing developers, consultancies, authorities and the general public’s expectations and concerns through mediation.
As the ideal candidate you will have:
  • A tertiary qualification in Town and Regional Planning, or relevant experience/qualifications
  • Prior experience in managing a small team of planners coupled with ideally a Local Government background
  • Previous experience managing all fascists of strategic planning within a municipality 
  • A solid knowledge of Victoria Planning Provisions and state & local planning policies and guideline. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
