BAE Systems Australia is the prime contractor for the design and construction of the Landing Helicopter Dock amphibious ships for the Royal Australian Navy.
In order to provide sufficient resources for the upcoming ship outfitting work commencing in April 2012, we are now seeking suitably experienced Pipe Welders with strong attention to detail to deliver a high standard of output.
As the ideal applicant, you will have:
• Pipe welding/fabrication experience
• Experience in GTAW, MMAW and/or GMAW welding
• Experience in pressure code pipe welding to radio graphic standards
• Experience working with stainless steel and carbon steel pipe.
• Experience with copper nickel pipe is desired but not essential.
• Unwavering commitment to safety
Desirable Criteria:
• Experience working in an industrial environment
• Shipbuilding experience will be highly regarded
• Trade/Welding certificates
• Current construction induction card
• A strong work ethic and flexible attitude
• Experience reading, interpreting and working to drawings & diagrams
